Garry McKay – Non-Executive Director and Equality Champion

Garry McKay – Garry is Head of Business Services at Basketball Scotland and has held leadership roles across Scottish sport for more than 15 years, including Chief Operating Officer and Interim Chief Executive at Scottish Squash.

He brings extensive experience in governance, organisational development and strategic planning, having worked closely with Boards and stakeholders across the Scottish sporting system.

Garry has a particular interest in equality, diversity and inclusion, and has led the development of equality strategies, governance frameworks and participation initiatives aimed at improving representation and reducing barriers to involvement in sport.

Having worked across club, community and national governing body settings, Garry is passionate about creating positive sporting environments and increasing opportunities for people of all backgrounds to participate and thrive.

Outside of work, he enjoys running, cycling and racket sports.
