COVID-19 UPDATE
Following advice from the UK & Scottish Governments, scottishathletics recommend all face-to-face classroom education activity delivered by scottishathletics (coach, official, teacher, club etc) will cease until further clarity is provided. Meantime we will look to transition courses where applicable online.
Our next education programme will be delivered with Covid restrictions considered in Spring 2021 with a Summer programme also planned.
At this stage scottishathletics has decided to re-schedule all Coach and Official education, development courses and workshops that are planned until the end of April 2021.
If you are booked onto a course during this period you will receive an email with further information on this situation.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope that you will still consider a coaching or officiating qualification in Athletics in the future.
We are aware that there is an increased use of online communication during this period, and so have provided the following useful documents for coaches:
Social Media and Digital Guidelines for Coaches
Additional advice when using Zoom for online meetings
Coaches are vital to our sport. Without the commitment of those who choose to guide and train athletes of all ages, abilities and disciplines, athletics simply would not exist.
The backbone of the coach’s journey is formed by the UKA qualifications that we offer around the country. Courses are available for everyone from complete beginners (such as the Jog Leader or Leading Athletics courses) to the most experienced.
New Coach Qualification Pathway
For those who are already qualified, we offer a wide range of CPD opportunities to help you improve your skills and experience.
You can explore all our coaching qualifications and CPD resources using the menus on the left of this page.
