ATS Young People’s Forum

The scottishathletics Young People’s Forum is is a national group established to give young people a platform and voice in all aspects of the planning, development, and delivery of athletics in Scotland.

The forum has 21 members aged 14–23, selected from more than 30 applicants through a group and individual interview process.

Young People – Information booklet for clubs and coaches

One of the key pieces of work to be completed by the first cohort of the Young People’s Forum was the creation of a guide for clubs and coaches, full of advice on keeping young people in the sport.

It was based on in-depth work by forum members, including a survey of scottishathletics members aged 23 and under, on mental health and retaining young people in sport, and discussions at the first ever YPF Conference at the Emirates Arena in March 2023.
