New to athletics? Whether you’re a child taking your first steps in the sport, a young athlete keen to compete, or an adult looking to get active for the first time, the world of athletics in Scotland has something for everyone. Browse the menus on the left to explore the opportunities that are open to you.
The Club Finder will help you to find and contact athletics clubs near you and see what disciplines they offer. If you’d like to take up jogging in a relaxed, supportive and sociable atmosphere, the Recreational running page will tell you more about how to do that with an athletics club or with our jogscotland programme, which has hundreds of groups around the country.
Information and opportunities for athletes with a disability are detailed on the para-athletics page, and the Club Finder will help you find clubs which offer coaching to athletes with disabilities – just search for clubs and use the check boxes to filter for disability athletics.
If you are looking for opportunities for your children, take a look at our Run, Jump, Throw scheme, which offers children a fun introduction to athletics, or use the club finder to see your nearest athletics clubs.
Opportunities for students to compete and information for trainee teachers are included on the University and College athletics page.
