SSAA & SA Development Days

scottishathletics and Scottish Schools Athletics Association have teamed up to engage with athletes and their coaches earlier on the pathway.

we are aiming:

  • To support the individualisation of training in the U16 age group.
  • To provide a good understanding of the basic KPIs in their event
  • To assess underpinning qualities and encourage coaches and athletes to utilise these elements in their training programmes.

Linked to the scottishathletics event group projects – athletes and their coaches will be invited based on performance at the Scottish School Athletics & Combined Events Championships. Invitations will go out in August each year to the top 5 ranked U16 Athletes from the SSAA Outdoor Championships for individual events and top 6 for U18 & U16 Combined Events athletes at the SSAA Combined Events Championships.

A breakdown of each of the event days can be found on the tabs below.
