Just Signed up for your Coaching Assistant Course?

• Log in to – Athletics Hub (https://www.athleticshub.co.uk/login), it will open on the ‘My Dashboard’ (click for screenshot) Page.
• On the left hand menu, click on ‘Online Courses’ and select ‘Go To MyLearning’ (click for screenshot).
• Under ‘My Courses’, complete the following steps:
  • Select ‘Coaching Assistant (Online & Practical)’ and complete all online modules, quizzes and practical session resources.
  • Select the ‘Mandatory Training’ (First Aid & Safeguarding) module and complete all elements (including the declaration).

If you already have an external First aid certificate, please email this to firstaidtrainingcertification@uka.org.uk

PVG Check – Regulated Roles (with U18s or Protected Adults)

• Anyone undertaking a regulated role (with children aged under 18 or Protected Adults) in activity linked to scottishathletics, MUST have a PVG check in place prior to starting the role.
• PVG checks are not transferrable between organisations, this must be a check completed via the correct scottishathletics process.
• It is a criminal offence to undertake a regulated role without a PVG check in place.

Delivering in a club?

• Regulated Role – please contact the ‘Club Welfare Officer’ to discuss or progress a PVG application.
• Not in a Regulated Role – please complete the online Self Declaration form*.

Delivering activity outwith a club but linked to scottishathletics?

• Please contact pvg@scottishathletics.org.uk to discuss the options for your circumstances.

Not delivering activity linked to scottishathletics?

• You are not eligible for a scottishathletics PVG check. Please complete the online Self Declaration form*.

Already have a PVG check with scottishathletics?

• If you are already in a regulated role in athletics and have completed a PVG check via scottishathletics this may already be aligned to your licence.

*Once processed, your licence card will include a line confirming that you are restricted to coaching O18 only.

DBS is the English/ Welsh equivalent of a criminal record check in Scotland.

In no situation should a Scottish based Leader/ Coach progress an application to DBS. 

• Log in to myathletics portal (https://myathletics.uka.org.uk/portal/Members/Login), once you have completed any relevant information it will open on the Summary page (click for screenshot).
• On this page, check that all your details are correct.
• If you need to make any changes, use the links on the left hand side of the page.
• Photographs:
  • Please only use a portrait orientation, passport style photograph for licensing purposes. Please remember that this photo will be used on your licence card.
  • Photographs should be updated every 9 years, in line with licence renewals.
  • Your photograph should be no larger than 100×130 pixel, under 4MB
• To upload a new photo click ‘edit member image’ on the right hand side of the ‘Personal Details’ box (click for screenshot).
• A new window will open called ‘Update Member Image’, select ‘Choose File, upload your photo (making sure it meets the requirements listed above) and click save.
• The photo should now appear in the ‘Personal Details’ box.

• Log into your profile on Athletics Hub by clicking https://www.athleticshub.co.uk/login (you can use the links to access your URN or reset your password).
• Click on your name at the top of the menu on the left-hand side of the screen to navigate to your profile.
• In the ‘User Details’ section, scroll to licence terms and conditions for your role – leader and coach are both covered in ‘Coaches Terms and Conditions’.
• Click the link to download and read the relevant terms and conditions.
• Tick the relevant box (underneath the link) to accept the revised T&Cs
• Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the blue ‘submit’ bar.

If you are a licensed leader/ coach and a technical official you will need to accept T&Cs for each role. If you are not a licensed technical official, you do not need accept these T & C’s.

This is your chance to put all you have learned online into practice and meet other Coaching Assistants in training – enjoy the day!

If you have enrolled onto the Coaching Assistant Online & Remote Practical ensure you have completed all the tasks outlined in your course communications and resources.

Please remember that completing steps 1-4 above before attending your practical course will ensure that your licence card is issued sooner.
