scottishathletics have become signatories to the Race at Work Charter.

Our support for this initiative chimes with our on-going Equality work, which saw us receive the Advanced Level status in the Equality in Sport Standard awards in September 2019.

Business in the Communities’ (BITC’s) Race at Work Charter provides a framework for employers to take practical steps to ensure that their workplaces are tackling barriers that ethnic minority people face in recruitment.

With the support of BITC, scottishathletics as a signatory are committed to delivering the five principles of the Charter:

*Appoint an Executive Sponsor for race

*Capture ethnicity data and publicise progress

*Commit at Board level to zero tolerance of harassment and bullying

*Make clear that supporting equality in the workplace is the responsibility of all leaders and managers

*Take action that supports ethnic minority career progression
