Eilish McColgan completed a remarkable hat-trick of Awards successes – as she landed the Scottish Women in Sport top title on Friday night in Glasgow.

Eilish was named the SWiS Sportswoman of the Year from a short-list that also included Laura Muir.

And a superb year for our sport was reflected in three more wins in various categories including superb recognition for our partners at jogscotland and their inspirational Menopause Friendly campaign for jogging groups.

Eilish won the BT Sport Action Woman of the Year award on Wednesday in London and followed that on Thursday by being named Sunday Times Sportswoman of the Year in recognition of her superb 2022.

So Friday night in Glasgow marked a ‘hat-trick’ from Scottish Women in Sport with the short-list completed by Laura, Eve Muirhead, Shannon Archer and Louise Christie.

There were three other well-deserved awards for athletics/jogscotland . . .

*Pitreavie AAC were the winners of the MG Alba Sporting Champion award, reflecting great work by the club.

*Ruth Watson, a coach with Aberdeen AAC, won the Scottish Club Sport Volunteer of the Year award as acknowledgement of big commitment to her sport

*jogscotland’s Menopause Friendly campaign took the Scottish Women in Sport Inspiration award as richly merited recognition of ground-breaking project to raise awareness within groups

Congratulations to Eilish, Pitreavie AAC, Ruth and jogscotland (Jo Stevens, Sue Gyford, David Fallon) on the SWiS success and indeed to all the winners and those nominated.
