Scotland will be back in international action in road running at the end of March.
We are making plans to send teams of men and women to the Cardiff Half Marathon event in Wales on Sunday 27 March.
It is new road running international opportunity after obvious challenges in that area of the sport during Covid-19 and a number of event cancellations.
Our Endurance Manager, Mark Nixon, is now asking for expressions of interest from athletes ahead of a selection date at the end of February.
Here are a few more details . . .
*Team size: Up to four men and four women
*Selection will be based upon all-known form over 10km, half-marathon, and marathon distances during the period of 1 March 2021 – 20 February 2022 (More weighting will be given to more recent performances)
*Times from the 2021 Antrim Coast Half Marathon will be considered, but allowances will be made for the course being 54m short
*To express interest, please contact Mark Nixon by 20 February 2022: mark.nixon@scottishathletics.org.uk
