Tuesday 21st September 2021

LCB website

The Lloyd Cowan Bursary (LCB) is open for applications from athletes and coaches.

These bursaries aim to help unfunded young athletes aged 16-23, and coaches, for whom cost is a potential barrier, by awarding small grants to help them access developmental opportunities in athletics.

The LCB has been set up in memory of the late, great, British Athletics coach who died unexpectedly from Covid-19 in January 2021.

Applications close on 30 September so please don’t hesitate to make study the form and make contact:

Honorary Life Membership list

scottishathletics were saddened last week to learn of the passing of Betty Davidson at the age of 88.

Betty will be well known to many of our members as a track Official and also as a Masters athlete. Indeed, she competed in World Masters Championships until her late 70s.

She was also an Honorary Life Member of scottishathletics.

Betty was a Scottish track champion in 1951 and 1952 at 880 yards under her maiden name of Betty Moffat and married Ian Steedman in 1954. They were responsible for the development of Musselburgh Athletic Club.

We send our condolences to all Betty’s family and friends.

A private funeral service is being held on Monday 27 September at 11.30 but this can be viewed online https://watch.obitus.com
