Scottish coaches and athletes land Lloyd Cowan Bursaries (2022)

Scottish coaches and athletes have been urged to make applications for the Lloyd Cowan Bursary.

The LCB awards aim to help unfunded young athletes aged 16-23, and coaches, for whom cost is a potential barrier, by awarding grants of up to £500 to help them access developmental opportunities in athletics.

Three Scottish coaches and  13 Scottish athletes were among those to receive backing in 2022.

The LCB has been set up in memory of the late, great, British Athletics coach who died unexpectedly from Covid-19 in January 2021.

The application window for next year closes at 12 noon on November 17.

The selection process will take place two weeks later when the Bursary Committee meets to consider every submission. Decisions will be confirmed by the middle of December.
