The Lindsays Cross Country Season is ready to get up and running!
We cannot wait for Lindsays District XC Relays at three venues around the country on Saturday.
East athletes race at Dechmont Law in Livingston; North athletes compete at Inverness; and our West athletes will gather at the Ayrshire Athletics Arena in Kilmarnock.
And there are really positive signs in terms of our grassroots in terms of entry numbers for the first weekend of #LindsaysXC – only days after we announced a new contract of sponsorship support from Lindsays.
No fewer than 635 teams are listed for the three events as follows:
East – 279 teams (276 in 2024)
North – 70 teams (55 in 2024: increase in all age groups)
West – 279 teams (235 in 2024: increase in Sen age groups)
Senior numbers are up on last year and in line with 2023.
It is a brilliant response once again from our clubs and we want to thank athletes, coaches, parents and team managers for backing the Lindsays Cross Country Season.
At Senior level, this weekend also marks the start of the Cross Country Team Challenge as clubs battle for points at the first of three events (with Cumbernauld and Lanark to follow).
In terms of the events themselves, please check the event pages for each venue for lots more detail including the timetables.
Our Host Clubs on this occasion are Lothian RC, Inverness Harriers and Kilmarnock Harriers.
At this stage we say thank you to our host clubs and volunteers, Officials as well as good luck to everyone making plans to race the Lindsays District XC Relays on Saturday.
