scottishathletics are celebrating an awesome communications milestone this week.
We’ve gone through the one million views threshold on our YouTube channel.
It’s a truly remarkable audience figure for scottishathletics and a massive increase on 2023 when our reach was 397,000. The previous year – which included World Champs, Commonwealth Games and European Champs – we were around 325,000.
So we want to thank the athletics community in Scotland – and those beyond – for great support of our content and on such a regular basis.
Hundreds of videos have been published over the 12-month period taking in events, interviews, club features, a couple of short documentaries and some contributed footage.
Going forward, we have some plans for more ‘in-depth’ video content working with Urbane Media, who created films on Zoey Clark and Joanna Robertson (see below). Watch this space.
On our YouTube Shorts, we are starting to project more ‘user generated content’ which may come in from clubs and coaches. We appreciate your help with this as, of course, we are always careful in terms of any budget spend on comms.
Club videos are very welcome, too, and we are starting to build a bank of those. On the channel, search for the Clubs playlist.
Thank you to very many people involved in our YouTube content over the past year including Vinco, Youth Football Scotland, Lab Rat Productions and Stuart Weir.
Thank you also to the likes of Laura Muir, Jemma Reekie and Josh Kerr who routinely are mindful of the Scottish athletics audience when interviews are requested and almost always accommodate with patient good manners.
