2026 British & Irish Junior Mountain Running Championships
Scotland teams will compete in the Junior Home International in hill running this weekend.
We’re really pleased this year to have selected no fewer than 18 young athletes to compete at U20 and U18 level.
The event is being held on Saturday (12 September) in Mourne Mountains, Newcastle, Northern Ireland.
Following the change to the new age groups, the JHI U18 category allows final year U16s (born in 2011) to compete to give them experience of international competition.
That is reflected in our Scotland team selection at U18 level.
The JHI incorporates the British and Irish Junior Mountain Running Championships and is an open event.
U20 Men
Alex Dunlop (Central AC); Kieran Hardie (Harmeny AC); Rowan Taylor (Lasswade AC); Lachlan Thomas (Ross County AC)
U20 Women
Emily Atkinson (Haddington); Hania Czebreszuk (Aberdeen AAC); Eliza Konig (Fife AC); Kirsty Rankine (Gala Harriers)
U18 Men
Seb Darlow (Gala Harriers); Jack Foley (Moorfoot Runners); Ben Hodson (Stewartry) ; Tom Ibbs* (Team East Lothian); Billy Sutherland (Ross County)

Congratulations to the selected athletes on being picked to represent Scotland and to their families, coaches and the clubs involved in their development.
(*In the U18, each team can feature one U16 athlete born in 2011)
