Club Together Annual Report 25 – 26

The scottishathletics Club Together Project, established in 2011, remains an essential pillar of the scottishathletics National Club Development Programme.

Club Together is recognised as one of the most successful club development programmes across the Scottish sporting sector and has resulted in significant increases in participation numbers and club membership alongside strengthening club infrastructure and club operations.

scottishathletics are pleased to publish our Club Together Project Annual Report for 2025-26 (document linked above).

During the period 2025-26, there are 24 athletics clubs involved in the project with 34 Officers.

In 2025-26 there has been:

  • Five percent increase in athlete membership numbers across the 24 clubs to 7547 members.
  • Over 900 new members recruited in participating clubs.
  • 93 percent retention rate of new members.
  • Increase in the overall annual investment into the programme which stands at £407k (40 percent increase in two years)
  • 455 delivery hours per week of club development delivery time
  • Based on affiliation data, 35 percent of all scottishathletics membership is made up from clubs involved in Club Together.

In terms of number of clubs, number of officers and investment these are the highest levels since the programme started back in 2011.

As we reach September 2026,  projections for the coming year 2026-27 are looking extremely positive with a number of new clubs joining the programme and a number of existing clubs expanding their programmes.

The growth will be aided significantly by the new sportscotland Club Support Programme.
