International Youth Cup
Six Junior athletes are headed for Susa, Italy, this weekend to represent Scotland in the International Youth Cup for Mountain Running.
Athletes in an U18 category will race an up and down course over a two laps, 4.1km with 200m of climb.
The event is part of the Memorial Partigiani Stellina – International Mountain Race competition – and our two Scotland teams will race early Saturday evening. There will be teams from 15 nations competing.
Sunny McGrath (Aberdeen AAC) competed in this event last year and will be hoping to improve on his 26th place. Harry McGill (Greenock Glenpark Harriers) and Cameron Sale (Dundee Hawkhill) are competing in their first Youth Cup.
This is also the first Youth Cup for the girls team of Helen Chong (Giffnock North AC); Pippa Carcas (Edinburgh AC) and Rosie Davidson (Ayr Seaforth).
Good luck to the athletes for the International Youth Cup and all those from Scotland travelling to Italy – with the teams led by Jane Robertson and Mike Pearson.
