Welcome to the scottishathletics Teachers’ section. Browse the menus on the left to find lots of information on how pupils can get involved in athletics through schools and how scottishathletics can support your school to deliver a quality athletics programme.
scottishathletics is working closely with the Active Schools Network, local schools, the Scottish Schools Athletic Association and British Athletics to create an exciting developmental programme for athletics that can be easily accessed by schools. We are working in partnership to develop a framework for athletics in Scotland that is based on the principles of long-term athlete development and links closely to the Curriculum for Excellence that will ensure that activities, skills and competition formats are all relevant to the age and stage of the participant.
For a complete guide to schools athletics opportunities in Scotland please download the latest version of National Schools Athletics Programmes Booklet at the bottom of this page.
You can also download Get Set for Glasgow 2014, a pack of 12 Commonwealth Games-themed lesson plans and several extra-curricular activities for 7-11 year-olds (please note, this is a large file).
