Lindsays Short Course XC Champs preview
Kirkcaldy is centre-stage this weekend for the endurance community as Fife AC play host to the Lindsays Short Course XC Champs.
And performances on Saturday – both in Kirkcaldy and elsewhere – will provide further evidence for Scotland vest selections for the British Cross Challenge and Euro Cross Trials event in Liverpool later this month.
Up to 24 vests will be awarded by scottishathletics for the trip to Merseyside on Saturday 23 November.
These will be for up to four men and four women at Senior, U23 and U20 level.
Liverpool marks the first of a series of Scotland international opportunities on offer with agreement of the Road Running and Cross Country Commission.
These are outlined in our International Handbook documents – which are now split into various strands of the sport.
Following Liverpool, there are Scotland opportunities coming up in the Run Stirling event taking place on Saturday 11 January.
This will feature the Home Countries XC and Celtic International XC matches combined within the British Cross Challenge and Inter-District events taking place that day.
GB and Scotland international Mhairi Maclennan spoke to us recently about the pride at wearing a Scotland vest and how running in front of a home crowd at Stirling will be a big motivation for athletes.
