Team Selection – Scottish Athletics

Talented young athletes will represent Scotland at the England Athletics U20 Champs later this month.

The event in Birmingham over the weekend of July 25-27 will also be the trials for GB and NI selection for the European U20 Champs in Finland in August.

scottishathletics moved to offer a Scotland representative honour at Birmingham when it became clear that changes to the Manchester International had seen the U20 International scrapped from that event.

Now 27 young athletes have been selected with almost 20 Scottish clubs represented in this selection (we make it 18).

This is really encouraging to see from a development perspective as we firmly believe those selected can become ‘role models’ within their own clubs and training groups.

2025 Championships – England Athletics

We send our warm congratulations to those picked and to their coaches and clubs.

Scotland selection should always be a significant moment and only happens after a number of years of hard work and development in the sport.
