Support act: 29 Scots receive grant aid from Ron Pickering Memorial Fund (March 2023)

Young Scottish athletes between the ages of 15 and 23 can now apply for support for next year from the Ron Pickering Memorial Fund.

We reckon almost 50 awards have been made to Scots over the past couple of years – with 29 beneficiaries in 2023 – so well worth making applications.

The RPMF Grants are awarded to young athletes with talent or need in the sport of Athletics. These awards are inclusive with applications from Para athletes welcomed.

This year, the application window lasts until mid-December with the selection process taking place thereafter as the RPMF Grants Committee meet to review and discuss every athlete who has submitted the online form.

Announcements of those that have been awarded a RPMF Grant is usually made in early January.

CLOSING DATE for applications is midnight on Thursday 14 December.

Further details via the form but those making applications are asked to have to hand information on your club, coach and performance information (rankings, results and a summary) as well as answers to questions including any funding you are currently receiving (or have applied for), your current athletic costs eg travel, fees, equipment etc and any hardship factors to be considered.

For any queries, please contact grants@rpmf.org.uk
