Nicole Yeargin is Scotland’s latest Olympic medallist.
The Team GB Mixed 4x400m Relay quartet took bronze in a thrilling final in the Stade de France on Saturday night.
And Pitreavie AAC athlete Nicole lands her medal after being involved in the heats on Friday when the initial selection ran a new British Record.
In the final, the team of Sam Reardon, Laviai Nielsen, Alex Haydock-Wilson and Amber Anning set another British Record of 3:08.01 on their way to the podium.
The Netherlands won the race in truly dramatic fashion thanks to anchor leg Femke Bol as the United States had to settle for silvers.
Laviai Neilsen said: ‘I saw Nicole (Yeargin) in the crowd and the first thing I said to her is ‘you’re an Olympic bronze medallist‘. She is a big part of this team. We knew Amber is one of the strongest member so of this team.’
Nicole, whose mother hails from Dunfermline, has a superb relay medal record including podium places in all three main events in 2022 – the World Champs and Europeans with GB and Ni and the Commonwealth Games with Team Scotland.
Many congratulations!
