Record-breaker! Alyson lands Scottish Record amid six medals in Birmingham
It’s been another hectic weekend for athletics in Scotland and our athletes.
The Lindsays National XC drew huge crowds to Falkirk and once again generated a fantastic feelgood factor across our sport via the support from our clubs.
In Birmingham, meanwhile, a small but determined group of Scottish athletes came up with six medals at the UK Indoor Champs with two golds, two silvers and two bronzes achieved.
We’re delighted here to share interviews with our two new British champions – the Giffnock North AC duo, Neil Gourley and Alyson Bell. Neil won his third British indoor title at 1500m with a Championship Best and Alyson ran a Scottish Record to win Women’s 200m gold.
With thanks to Stuart Weir in Birmingham, hear from both athletes.
Further down this story, there are interviews with our Lindsays National XC Senior champions – Logan Rees of Fife AC and Lynn McKenna of Shettleston Harriers.
On this topic, big thank you from Comms to all those athletes being interviewed across a range of events at all points in the year. And a thank you to (many) folk who contribute to our coverage – you know who you are!
