Eight athletes will represent Scotland at the Antrim Coast Half Marathon in August.

The races in Northern Ireland always attract high quality fields and fast times will be expect on Sunday 27 August.

And we are pleased to confirm four men and four women have been selected by scottishathletics to represent Scotland over the distance.

Recent form was considered in the selection process with this international opportunity offered under the auspices of our Road Running and Cross Country Commission.

Scotland Men:

Weynay Ghebresilasie (Shettleston Harriers); Fraser Stewart (Cambuslang Harriers); Lewis Rodgers (Fife AC); Hamish Hickey (Central AC)

Scotland Women:

Natasha Phillips (Dundee Hawkhill Harriers); Sarah Potter (VP-Glasgow); Eilidh Bell (Shettleston Harriers); Sara Green (Gala Harriers).

It is a very exciting moment for all athletes concerned, of course, and all four of those picked for the

Scotland Women’s team are savouring selection for the first time! Natasha is 18, Sara is 41 and Sarah is Beth Potter‘s sister.

Many congratulations to all those selected and to their families, coaches and clubs as hard work pays off. Good Luck for Antrim.

*Unfortunately, there will now not be a Scotland international opportunity in the 5k event in Wales in August.

The race organisers changed the date of the event and it now clashes with our Scottish Senior Championships on August 12.

The Championships at Grangemouth include the 5000m and our best athletes at that distance are encouraged to enter the track event.
