Mel Woods is an emerging athlete on the Scottish Para athletics scene with a significant story to tell.
The former PE teacher from Glasgow suffered serious injuries while driving in the Highlands three years ago and had to completely re-assess her life.
Mel has been speaking to a podcast at her old school, Bishopbriggs Academy, about those challenge and who watching Para athletics on TV from her hospital bed inspired and motivated her to explore her sporting options.
Mel chats about the challenges of rehab and the range of sports she tried including skiing. She is now a wheelchair racer with sights set on Birmingham and the Commonwealth Games.
