The final round of our National Training Days for winter 2019-20 took place last weekend.
These have been organised by scottishathletics to help coach and athlete development and have been led by Stephen Maguire, our Director of Performance and Coaching.
Throws and Jumps sessions were held at Grangemouth with knowledgeable assistance from the likes of Mike McNeill, Andy Frost, Nick Ridgeon and Alison Grey (throws) and John Scott and Gillian Cooke (jumps).
And there was also a sprints session at Pitreavie on Sunday led by Allan Scott and Chris Baillie with Ken Allan supporting the high jump.
scottishathletics would like to thank all the presenters involved over the National Training Days and also all the coaches and athletes who have been in attendance and buying into this approach which is geared towards greater growth across the event groups.
It has been really encouraging to see some positive comments and reaction across social media.

Nick Percy had no sooner won at Loughborough in the Long Throws Meet last Saturday than he was headed north to help us out with some athlete and coach development.
Nick attended special invitation discus sessions on Sunday and on Monday geared at giving athletes and coaches better insight to the event – with his advice and tips very well-received.
‘I always enjoy passing on my experience and knowledge to the next generation of athletes and these last few days have been special helping Scottish athletes – thanks very much to scottishathletics for the opportunity,’ said Nick in a tweet.
Just back up the road by 8 but well worth the trip, great afternoon of technical work with @PercyNic thank you @AlisonGreySAL for the invitation organising the day, also @scotathletics for continued development in throws, next throws session is @ChrisBennett89 this week pic.twitter.com/gE3f0FC6Pu
