Headed for Fife: Kirkcaldy all set to stage Lindsays Short Course with 1327 names entered!

Thursday 5th November 2026

Parkland on the Fife coast will be front and centre for our club community again this weekend.

Kirkcaldy High School is the venue for our Lindsays Short Course XC with a remarkable 1327 names on the start-lists.

Following the cancellation of the Lindsays National XC Relays at Cumbernauld (now rescheduled), Kirkcaldy is arguably even more eagerly-awaited and we are thrilled with such a big response from athletes, coaches and clubs.

In fact, that 1327 figure far outstrips the entry figure of 1249 for last year’s Short Course event at Lanark.

Six races are on the schedule for Kirkcaldy and age group changes this mean we start with U16 and U18 races. These are followed by two busy Senior races.

Kirkcaldy races will decide Scottish nomination for Euro Cross XC trials at Liverpool

Here’s the race programme for Saturday . . .

U16 Girls: Starts 12 noon: 2k

U16 Boys: Starts 12.25pm: 2k

U17 Women: Starts 12.50pm: 3k

U17 Men: Starts 1.20pm: 3k

Junior/Senior/Masters Women: Starts 1.50pm: 4k

(Race declarations close off 30 minutes prior to race start time).

Team Medals – Senior four to count; all other races three to count. There are no team medals for U20 or Masters teams.

Clubs should also make themselves familiar with the Age Group changes which come into effect for the winter season.
