‘The ATS Young People’s Forum is all about opportunity’ – Oscar Logan
scottishathletics are delighted to confirm Cohort Three for the Athletics Trust Scotland Young People’s Forum – one of our key development projects.
The recruitment process for Cohort Three began in October 2025, with no fewer than 33 applications received from young people aged 14-23 hoping to be successful in gaining one of the places on the Forum.
Interviews at the beginning of November saw a very high calibre of candidates continue in the process.
We are delighted to now confirm that the Forum has grown from 15 members to 21 due to the standard of those who were interviewed and the following young people were duly offered the opportunity to join:
*Following the recruitment process, three members from Cohort Two were successful in being offered a place to stay on for another two-year term with Cohort Three.

For the first time, the Forum also have Lead Mentors, who will provide guidance to the Mentors and co-facilitate the meetings along with the scottishathletics staff.
The Lead Mentors, who are going into year five of being involved with the forum, are:
‘Sport is for everyone’ – YPF member Callum
The ATS YPF was created to help and advise scottishathletics on engaging with young people more effectively around developments within athletics and the wider sport and to give young people a voice.
The ambition is for the Young People’s Forum to play an active role in scottishathletics initiatives, to widen their impact, coverage and assist with decision-making which impacts young people within the sport. For example, the were recently involved in the consultation around the Competition changes.
The induction for Cohort Three will take place online the week commencing December 8 and the first face-to-face meeting will be held on Sunday 18 January.
The aims will be to continue to look at the athlete health, retention of young people in athletics, inclusion and transition from school to further education. These aims will be added to or changed as the third cohort becomes more established.
We would like to thank the members and mentors of Cohort Two who are moving on from the Forum: Danny Convery, Naideen Dailly, Oscar Logan, Erin Quinn, Jessica Robson, Katie Sandilands, Natalie Sharp, Orla Stewart and Abigail Strath.
