The Fast One – Course Record falls to Logan gold and Morag celebrates Silverknowes hat-trick

It was the night that Logan Rees beat the clock . . . and Morag Millar turned back the clock.

The Scottish 5K Champs, hosted by Sri Chinmoy and dedicated event organiser Adrian Stott, delivers fast times and storylines every single year.

There’s something about a Friday night in May and the race beside the seaside that brilliantly showcases our sport – from volunteer contribution to committed athletes from club level and upwards.

And we are delighted to share video content with the ‘recap’ coming our way with a big thank you to Adrian and to Tony Marsh Film and Photography.

Fife AC’s Logan won the race in 14:04 to shatter the Course Record held by Jamie Crowe.

In fact, the other two men’s medallists – Jamie MacKinnon of Cambuslang Harriers and Sean Chalmers of Aberdeen AAC – also bettered the existing best time at Silverknowes.

Morag, meanwhile, won the race the third time in her career and fully 11 years on from her first success back in 2014. The evergreen Central AC athlete is now eyeing British Record times for W40 as she approaches that landmark in 2026.
