Two editions in 2024 had strong focus on the World Indoors in Glasgow and Olympics/Paralympics in Paris
scottishathletics would like to advise members on the future of PB magazine.
After much consideration, we have decided to discontinue the magazine in all formats and instead look to carry on promoting similar content in other ways across our website and other platforms.
PB has been one of our most effective means of communication with members over the past 12 years.
As the way people seek and digest information changes we need to ensure we are channeling our resources in the most efficient and effective way to keep members informed, engaged and enthused.
With a number of our social media feeds proving hugely popular, we are (currently) placing an emphasis on YouTube content and Instagram – as well as a very regular diet of news and features on the website home page
‘I feel as if we’ve reached the natural end point for PB,’ said Head of Communications, Peter Jardine, who has edited the magazine since early 2012.

‘I’ve spent a lot of time in recent months analysing and planning how we can continue to promote what we would call ‘traditional PB content‘ – be that longer interviews, club profiles or news features.
‘It is really important to highlight that with the platforms we have now, we have a lot of scope. I am confident we will be able to deliver both interesting and varied content for the athletics in Scotland audience.
‘I’d like to thank a number of people for their support with PB over the past 12 years.
‘There are too many to name but hopefully those directly involved know the support was much appreciated throughout that time.’
We very much look forward to continuing to provide informative, inspiring and engaging content for our members through 2025.
