Emirates bound: National Indoor Open draws big numbers again

The Emirates Arena was redeveloped a couple of years ago to host the 2024 World Indoors.

And now the Glasgow venue is ready to open doors for the 2026 4J Indoor Season.

Last year marked a return to our events at the Emirates after a gap the previous year – now this Sunday’s National Open looks set to host our biggest occasion since the reopening.

Close to 800 athletes are on start-lists for Sunday – 787 to be totally precise – with hundreds looking forward to their first event of the year (if they didn’t feature in GAA events last weekend). The 2025 version had around 550 athletes.

It will make for a really busy day and challenges our event team, volunteers and qualified scottishathletics Officials.
