Annabel Simpson celebrated a fine hat-trick of Tru Wealth Scottish Road Champs golds at Kilmarnock on Sunday.
The Fife AC athlete clocked 33.21 to win the Roon the Toon women’s race to add to her victories at the 10-Mile Champs and the Scottish 5k Champs so far in 2022.
And Annabel’s time was enough to land her another A standard in our Road Race Grand Prix. Chip times are used for our Road Race GP tables.
Four men claimed standards via their times in Ayrshire – race winner Sean Chalmers of Inverness Harriers took an A standard with 29:58 and there were B standards for the trio of James Donald (Dundee Hawkhill Harriers) 30:04, Michael Christoforou (Cambuslang Harriers) 30:17 and Jamie Burns (Shettleston Harriers) 30:26.
The final race in the series is the Tru Wealth Scottish Half Marathon Champs at the Great Scottish Run in Glasgow on Sunday 2 October.

Following on from the Tru Wealth Scottish 10k Champs at Roon the Toon, there are a couple of big races coming up in August and September which may prove suitable for our members.
The Paisley 10k is on Sunday 21 August and that is followed by the Stirling 10k organised each year by Central AC and taking place on Sunday 11 September. Both these races have our support.
The Paisley 10k Road Race is suitable for runners of all levels from novices to experienced club and international runners. For families, friends and youngsters, there is the shorter Fun Run that takes in some of Paisley Town Centre’s most famous landmarks.
In 2019, 3500 people raced around the streets of Paisley in the 10k road race and Fun Run, and the 2022 event is sure to be another one not to be missed!
