Aberdeen is the place to be this coming weekend and one of the most eagerly-awaited weekends of the 2021 track and field season.

We were delighted to deliver our 4J Studios Senior/U17 Champs at Grangemouth with a big entry involved over two days of action.

And now we are gearing up for the 4J Studios Age Group Champs for U20/U15/U13 athletes at the Aberdeen Sports Village.

It’s a superb facility and we are absolutely thrilled to have no fewer than 723 athletes on the start-lists – with this weekend the first National Championships outdoors in these age groups since 2019.

That tally of athletes compares very favourably with recent years in Aberdeen and we have our highest number of entrants in U15 Girls since 2017 and likewise in the overall U20 category.

We would like to remind coaches and spectators that they need to register with us in advance to attend for either day (or both).

scottishathletics coach members are free. U16s need to be accompanied by an athlete who has registered with us, please.

We’re delighted Vinco Sport will be with us again in Aberdeen – as we live stream the 4J Studios Age Group Champs for the first time.

Vinco joined us at Grangemouth for the 4J Studios Senior/U17 Champs and our coverage included short highlights of each day on our YouTube channel.

We will be looking to replicate that depth of coverage in Aberdeen, too.
