scottishathletics have been working to keep members right up to date following the latest Scottish Government lockdown announcements.
We highlighted on these pages yesterday that there is now a shutdown (on mainland Scotland) for all group activity in athletics for those aged 12+ and that we strongly recommend no group training for those aged 11 and younger.
It is further confirmed that no Events will take place until February 1 at the earliest.
This means that the weekends of 4J Studios National Open Series events scheduled for January 22/23 and also for January 30/31 at the Emirates Arena will NOT take place. We had already cancelled the indoor event for Saturday 9 January.
The Lindsays Inter-District XC event scheduled for Saturday 30 January in Inverness is now cancelled. We are looking at alternative options with the Road Running and Cross Country Commission.
Similarly, the Lindsays Masters XC event due in Aberdeen on Saturday 6 February is not now feasible and also up for further discussion over the next few days.
We thank all members and clubs for your patience and support at this very difficult time.

However, we will continue to look to explore available options and delay or re-schedule (rather than cancel) if that is viable and realistic.
This weekend’s Lindsays Virtual Road Challenge is going ahead with solo runs and we’re taking entries for that online.
