scottishathletics were delighted to announce recently that 4J Studios are our new sponsors for track and field events and our Annual Awards.

All the 4J Studios Indoor Season events are being held at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow and entries are open online.

In fact, the 4J Studios National Open for Saturday 18 January is already filling up in some events.

And we are really keen to remind Seniors and U17s that your national champs are taking place on Sunday 26 January at the Emirates Arena.

This formula has worked well in the past and we’d urge athletes, coaches and clubs now to get entries in online for that date.

The Indoor Season is an ideal chance to set an early-year PB or, in the National championship events, reach a final or even land a podium place.

It was International Volunteer Day earlier this week so quite appropriate it was then that our esteemed scottishathletics Historian and statistician, Arnold Black, received his MBE.

We never need an excuse to celebrate success for volunteers in athletics, of course, but it really was a special day for Arnold as he enjoyed his MBE investiture.

He had been rewarded for his services to the sport in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

Congratulations Arnold !
