Hill trio head for Poland; Academy athletes to Guernsey; West Highland Way

Three Scottish athletes are among the team of 10 who will represent British Athletics at the World Mountain Running Long Distance Championships in Karpacz, Poland on Sunday (24 June).

Congratulations to Murray Strain and Georgia Tindley of Hunters Bog Trotters and to Charlotte Morgan of Carnethy HRC on all making the British team.

It follows on from the trials at the Three Peaks race in North Yorkshire where Murray took second place. Georgia was also had a second place finish second place at the trials. The Hunter’s Bog Trotters athlete will make her international debut at the championships.

Carnethy’s Charlotte was seventh at last year’s championships in Italy and will now make another appearance for the British team in Karpacz

scottishathletics National Academy athletes will wear specific Joma kit this weekend

A group of scottishathletics National Academy athletes  are headed for the Channel Islands this weekend.

Guernsey Athletics are the hosts for the Intertrust Athletics Games on Saturday with the match to feature England U20s, a Channel Islands select and around 10-12 Scots from the National Academy.

From a scottishathletics point of view, this as an international opportunity for individuals in selected events rather than a full team event.

Making the journey are the following athletes:

Naomi Lang 3000m; Seamus Mackay 800m; Alessandro Schenini Long Jump; Joel McFarlane Javelin, Long Jump, Shot putt; Scott Connal Javelin, Shot putt; Jade Henry 100mH 100m; Adam Clayton 100m, 200m, 4 x 100m; Fraser Angus 100m, 200m, 4 x 100m;  Matt Chandler High Jump, Javelin, 400m; Robbie Farquhar Long Jump, 100m; Stephen MacKenzie Long Jump
