England Athletics Throws Fest

Five of our emerging young throwers will head to England this weekend.

The athletes will compete at the England Athletics Throws Fest meet in Northampton over Saturday and Sunday.

This is part of the scottishathletics Throws Project for 2021, which saw us stage three Throws meets earlier in the summer.

Supported by scottishathletics Throws Coordinator Alison Grey, the young athletes will compete in the U18 event at Northampton against international teams from England and Wales as well as a team from Loughbourgh University.

Scottish U17 record holder Meghan Porterfield (VP-Glasgow) will contest the Elite Shot competition along with talented combined event and throws athletes Paige Stevens (Falkirk Victoria Harriers) and Amy Kennedy (Cumbernauld AAC) and our top ranked U18 male shot putter, Segae Ugbe (Montrose).

Meghan (VP-Glasgow) will join the 4JStudios Senior Discus Champions Nick Percy and Kirsty Law in the Elite Discus event.

And another emerging VP-Glasgow thrower, Callum Hendry, will compete in the Hammer having thrown over 50m for the first time earlier this season.

Start lists and further event information can be find in the England Throws Camps website
