sportscotland Coach Education subsidy application success!

Introduced in 2023, sportscotland’s revised approach to the Coach Education Subsidy places a focus on reducing barriers and increasing access to education.

As outlined in our Strategy, Building a Culture of Success, scottishathletics has a clear commitment to improving equality, diversity and inclusion across the coaching community in Scotland.

We regard an essential element of this as the investment in – and support of – the delivery of targeted projects and to the ongoing recruitment, deployment and retention of coaches.

Following a successful application process the scottishathletics Coach Education team are delighted we have once again secured essential investment from our partners at sportscotland to provide financial support to our coach members embarking on coach education courses during 2024/2025.

Course dates for our autumn 2024 coach/leader education programme will be published on Tuesday 9 July.

In addition, our affiliated clubs will have early access to the course dates though our ‘Early Bird’ booking offer where course places for their club volunteers can be secured before the courses go on general sale.

Club’s should keep an eye out for the Early Bird email going out to club secretaries next week.

‘The subsidy from sportscotland hopefully removes barriers to access and encourages more folk to take the qualifications to grow and improve their skills and experience.

‘We are also grateful to many clubs who put current coaches and would-be coaches through the courses.’
