Hundreds set for Young Athletes Road Races at Greenock

Key information from Greenock 

All roads lead to Inverclyde on Sunday for many of the younger athletes in our clubs.

There are almost 500 names on the start-lists for the Young Athletes Road Races which take place at Battery Park in Greenock.

Races are for U17, U15 and U13 and the six-race programmes starts with the U13 Girls at 11.30am.

In the two older age groups, London Mini Marathon places are up for grabs and the first four across the line in those U17 and U15 races will be automatically selected.

More detail below on the selection process.

U13 Girls: Race starts 11.30am 2.5k

U13 Boys: Race starts 11.45am 2.5k

U15 Girls: Race starts  12.00 noon 4k

U15 Boys: Race starts 12.25pm 4k

U17 Women : Race starts 12.50pm 5k

U17 Men: Race starts 1.15pm 5k

Medals

Individual medals are awarded to the first three in each category. Team Medals –Three to count.

London Mini Marathon Selection Info

Scotland teams for each U17 and U15 age groups for the London Mini Marathon will be selected based on the first four athletes across the line in this event.

There will also be two discretionary spots that will be selected based on eligibility and current form.

Age groupings for the London Mini Marathon are U15 D.O.B. 01/09/08 – 31/08/10 and U17 D.O.B. 01/09/06 – 31/08/08
