The Lindsays Short Course XC at Scone Palace featured two Elite level races with scottishathletics having received approval to stage competition for these athletes.
Megan Keith won our 4J Studios U20 Performer of the Year award and she showed her class with a strong run over the soft course (which was just under the 3k distance).
Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds athlete Holly Page was second and there was a fine third place for Morag Millar of Central AC almost six months to the day since becoming a mum for the first time.
‘It was a good course with a bit of a hill at the start which meant everyone was together for a while,’ said Megan.
‘But after that I managed to pull away, although Holly stayed with me until about one kilometre from the finish.
‘The week before at Lochgelly I just got too cold and couldn’t keep the pace going. I wasn’t going to make that mistake again this time so I wore leggings and I think that made a big difference.’
Crowe for his part was delighted to win after being pushed back into second by Inverclyde AC’s Jonny Glen the previous week over 5k on the road at Lochgelly.
Sean Chalmers of Inverness Harriers followed up his strong fourth place on the tarmac in Fife with second place here and he was followed home closely by Aidan Thompson‘s strong run as he made it first and third for Central AC.
In fact, only three seconds covered the 1-2-3 with Edinburgh AC brothers Freddie and Alex Carcas completing the top five with excellent runs,.
