Volunteer help needed: support our Officials at three venues next weekend

Saturday 7th May 2022

The 4J Studios District Championships and Outdoor Opens are coming up next weekend at three different venues – but we need your help to make these events happen.

No fewer than 1300 or so athletes from around 60 clubs have entered and that’s a great response – thanks for the support.

Grangemouth, Inverness and Kilmarnock stage the East, North and West Districts on May 13/14/15 and this particular weekend always stretches our provision of qualified scottishathletics officials and regular event volunteers.

We are looking for additional volunteer helpers for all three venues that weekend to support our dedicated team of existing officials and volunteers.

*We particularly need folk to help on declarations and on presentations at Kilmarnock and at Grangemouth, please.

No prior experience is required, as all roles will be supervised by experienced Officials and volunteers.

The scottishathletics Events Team asks that clubs being represented in the District Championships and Outdoor Open offer three named volunteers to assist on each day that the club’s athletes will be competing.

This could be club coaches, parents or even athletes who are willing to assist around their competition commitments.

There are a number of roles to be filled and we would gladly accept offers of help for a whole day or for a split-session.

Clubs are asked to email events@scottishathletics.org.uk with their three names by 12 noon on Tuesday 10 May.

We also request a contact email address for each volunteer, as well as details of their availability (full day/half day, and on which day of the event).

Coaches and Spectators planning to attend these events are asked to register in advance.

Saturday 14 May:

North at Inverness (ticket covers both Friday and Saturday)

East at Grangemouth

West at Kilmarnock

Sunday 15 May:

East at Grangemouth

West at Kilmarnock

*All volunteers will of course receive free entry.
