It was a special night for Eilidh Doyle and Zoey Clark in the final session of London 2017.

The two Scottish athletes formed half of the GB and NI team who won silver medals in the Women’s 4 x 400m final behind a strong United States quartet and ahead of Poland.

Clark opened up for GB followed by Laviai Nielsen who handed over to GB team captain Doyle. Emily Diamond brought the baton home in second place in 3.25.00.

For Eilidh it was yet another medal at a significant international event – we make it 15 and counting – while for Aberdeen AAC’s Zoey it was tangible reward for four good performances in her first appearance at a Senior Champs with British Athletics.

We spoke to both athletes in the London 2017 mixed zone to forward the congratulations and support of the athletics community in Scotland.
