Here it is – the first look at the new Scotland navy blue kit!
Designers Macron have produced the new vest and other kit at our request, following the consultation process earlier this autumn.
More than 1200 people responded to our poll on three different options and just over 700 agreed to a welcome return to the traditional navy blue vests once worn by the likes of Liz McColgan and Yvonne Murray at past Commonwealth Games.
And the kit will be worn for the first time this weekend at the British Cross Challenge event in Liverpool, with two dozen athletes receiving support from scottishathletics for the fixture.
The first team event featuring the Macron kit will be the International 4 x 1K Relay at the Great Edinburgh XC at Holyrood Park on Saturday 7 January.
‘We’re delighted with the designs and I want to thank Macron for producing these vests and kits so quickly after we asked for them in time for the Liverpool fixture,’ said chief executive Mark Munro.
‘We recently calculated that there are 350 Scotland international opportunities across the various disciplines over the course of a year – so we look forward to seeing these superb new Macron kits in competition over the months to come.’
*In due course we will have further details on our agreement with Macron – which includes discounts for club kit.
