Top Scots are headed to Birmingham this weekend for the Novuna UK Champs.

British vests are up for grabs for the European Champs back at the same Alexander Stadium venue later this summer.

Putting a marker down for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow will be another significant motivation.

The selection process for Glasgow 2026 has been ongoing over the past week or two and we are awaiting confirmation via Team Scotland in due course.

Of course, places on the UK Champs podium are important, too, and for other Scots the goal will be to reach a final or post a PB performance.

Strong results in recent years have reflected well on the athletics pathway in Scotland and we hope for more of the same over Saturday and Sunday in Birmingham.

Mark Pollard, our Head of Performance, and other members of the team will be in the Alexander Stadium to lend their support to athletes and coaches.

We are also Media accredited so look out for coverage across our various platforms right through the weekend and into Monday.

There will be coverage across BBC Sport platforms and the British Athletcs channels.

Thanks in advance for your support and patience and to the Officials on duty in Birmingham – including Scottish volunteers no doubt – for helping contribute to making the UK Champs happen.
