Enter the Babcock Shettleston 10k
The Lindsays Scottish 10k Champs at the Babcock Shettleston event are shaping up well with entries still open.
Glasgow Green hosts the championships at the first race in the Babcock Series on a flat and traffic free course on Sunday 10 May (10am).
The most recent entries include the Lindsays Scottish Half Marathon champions from Inverness earlier this month – Annabel Simpson of Fife and Hamish Hickey of Central AC.
Annabel triumphed in 73:52 and Hamish in 65:06 which suggests they are both rounding into fine form for the spring road races.
Meanwhile Shettleston’s Brogan Wallace ran even quicker in the Paris Half Marathon on the same day, clocking a personal best of 72:42 for eighth place in a high quality international field.

Logan Rees of Fife, second last year, is the quickest of 17 leading Scots entered. He lost out to Wolverhampton’s Omar Ahmed who set a Babcock Series and course record of 29:06 last year. Those men which include Aberdeen’s Mark Abernethy on 29:06 have all run faster than 30:30.
In the women’s race Natasha Phillips from Dundee recently clocked a personal best of 32:33 for 10k upon her return to racing. She won on Glasgow Green last year in a series record of 32:48. The women’s field currently has nine runners faster than 36 minutes.
Any man faster than 30:30 or woman faster than 36 minutes can request a free entry by emailing John Mackay, the Race Director at j.mackay@ntlworld.com
Organisers have almost 1250 entries for the series already and almost 500 for the Shettleston race alone.
There is more than £6000 in cash and Start Fitness prizes on offer across the three races and every series entrant will receive a specially designed More Mile Series t-shirt.
