G2026 Team Scotland Athletics Selection Policy

scottishathletics and Team Scotland are pleased to announce an amendment to the Commonwealth Games selection policy for Glasgow 2026.

Athletics has been allocated 25 places on the overall Team Scotland for the Games next year.

This number (which does not include Para athletes) will include potential relay team members.

The qualifying period for standards opened at the start of 2025 as per the Selection Policy.

With places for up to 25 athletes at Glasgow 2026, track and field will make up a very significant percentage of the overall Team Scotland – which covers 10 sports – at next year’s event.

Para athlete places are allocated via a Commonwealth ranking system under the Selection Policy.
