scottishathletics U12 SUPERteams has proved to be a very popular fixture in the competition calendar in recent years, with over 500 athletes taking part in the outdoor edition in the summer of 2023.
Feedback from clubs taking part was fantastic, as young runners, jumpers and throwers experienced their first taste of competition in local, supportive and fun environments via regional heats.
Due to ongoing renovation work at the Emirates Arena ahead of the 2024 World Indoors, unfortunately the annual scottishathletics Indoor SUPERteams competition will not take place.
However, during the 2023-24 Winter Season, scottishathletics is encouraging clubs and volunteers across Scotland to host their own SUPERteams events locally, enabling young athletes to gain their first taste of indoor competition with no requirement to travel, minimal costs and in a familiar environment.
The scottishathletics Competitions Team is thus pleased to announce the launch of the SUPERteams Organiser’s Handbook.
This resource, which is free to all affiliated clubs, provides all of the instructions and you will need to plan and deliver your own SUPERteams event.
Venues which clubs could consider would include Aberdeen, Pitreavie , Meadowbank, Grangemouth, Scotstoun, Kilmarnock, Ayr. OR, indeed, any reasonably-sized indoor hall or gynasium type venue.
