CLUBS: Book for National Club Conference; ClubServe is expanded

Thursday 29th September 2022

Book places on our National Club Conference

scottishathletics are delighted to open the booking process for our 2022 National Club Conference.

Join us on Saturday 29 October at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow for another inspiring gathering of our club representatives.

The day runs from 9.30am to 4pm and is free for members of scottishathletics affiliated clubs, or £50 to those who are non-affiliated.

Due to our capacity limit, we are only able to accept a maximum of 2 delegates per affiliated club to ensure as many clubs as possible have the opportunity to attend the event.

Registration closes on Wednesday 26 October 2022, or when the 60 spaces are filled.

As we continue to move beyond the global pandemic, scottishathletics are working to understand the long-term impact Covid-19 has had on participation and membership numbers in athletics and running.

The early indications of our data is that certain younger age groups are struggling to return to our sport more than others.

As such, the 2022 conference will be themed  ‘Re-engaging Young People in Sport’.

Keynote Speaker

We are delighted to welcome 2012 Olympic athlete, and former professional basketball player, Kieron Achara MBE as our keynote speaker.

Kieron currently works with various organisations to champion positive wellbeing, mental health awareness, and diversity and inclusion. He will deliver a talk on ‘Thinking Differently to re-engage/engage with young people‘.

Workshops

Following the positive feedback received in 2021, we are privileged to once again have scottishathletics clubs at the forefront of our conference.

We will be joined by Gala Harriers AC and Pitreavie AAC who will be hosting workshops that will share their club development work, their good practice, and showcase some of their innovative approaches to their club operations and programmes.

There will be sessions with Kirsty McNab of Scottish Sports Futures, workshops run by our own Young People’s Forum, and plenty of opportunities for learning and sharing with other clubs and scottishathletics staff.

New! Our much-expanded version of ClubServe is rolled out to clubs

More information on ClubServe in our Club Support section

We are delighted to announce the full roll-out of a new, expanded version of ClubServe, our online club governance management system.

While all clubs have recently been using ClubServe to complete this year’s affiliation process, this new, expanded version, also allows clubs to manage their membership, events and book-keeping in one place.

It also offers club members their own portal to manage their club membership and entries into club events.

This means that all clubs will in future need to use a new version of ClubServe containing the updated modules – any clubs wishing to continue using the system will need to request access to the new version by emailing support@servesport.co.uk.

Clubs who have not yet affiliated for 2022-23 can still request this upgrade but should complete the affiliation process as soon as possible. Club secretaries have been emailed full details by our Development Team.

For any other queries regarding ClubServe, please contact our National Club Managers on development@scottishathletics.org.uk.

Thanks to the four pilot clubs which have been testing and feeding back on these four additional modules since April – Corstorphine AAC, Law and District AAC, Shettleston Harriers and Springburn Harriers.
