Young Scottish athletes were in fine form at the England Athletics Combined Events Champs in Sheffield.
Douglas Knox returned home with gold after a superb victory in the U17 Men’s Heptathlon.
The Springburn Harrier tallied 4941 points to move to fourth on the Scottish U17 all-time list for heptathlon. Third in the same event in Sheffield was Nathan Mobbs of North Ayrshire with 4779 points.
And making it three Scots in the top for was Murray Taylor of Inverness Harriers on 4492 points.
In the U15 Girls Pentathlon event, Dionne Maguinness took the gold with 3316 points after a series of fine performances by the Airdrie Harriers youngster.
Lasswade’s Morven Kenny was 10th (2591) and Giffnock’s Eilidh Brown was 29th (1871).
Well done to all Scottish athletes, coaches and parents who made the trip to Sheffield to experience deeper competition.
