Scott Stirling has been in fine form in cross country this winter and the Falkirk Victoria Harriers athlete took that form into his road running at the Telford 10k.
A fourth place finish was excellent in itself in a strong field but Scott’s PB run of 28:40 (chip time) is fifth best all time for Scots for the 10k distance on the road (on the RR and CC Commission list).
It was also a Falkirk Victoria Harriers club record as he took down the mark set by John Sherban at 28:46 (with Jim Dingwall at 28:45 for a track 10,000m).
Scott, silver medallist at the Lindsays Short Course XC, led home an impressive Scottish cohort as five others men went sub 30 minutes.
Ben Potrykus was 13th in the race at 2(:24 and Harry Henriksen was close behind at 29:31. Callum Tharme made the top 30 with 29:35 and there were good runs for Max Milarvie (29:45) and Jamie MacKinnon (29:58), too.
Natasha Phillips was fourth in the race with her run of 33:03 only just outside her 10k PB.
