Enter online for British Cross Challenge races at Renfrew
Scotland will compete in the Celtic Nations XC as the host country at Renfrew early in 2024.
And we are delighted to today name 24 athletes selected to compete for us on Saturday 13 January in races which also include the British Cross Challenge and our Inter-District XC.
The age groups are via World Athletics with runners picked at U23, U20 and U17. This means that some athletes may be competing ‘up a year’ because of World Athletics year of birth stipulations.
Scotland will compete for Celtic Nations XC medals that day at Renfrew against visiting teams from Ireland and Northern Ireland.
We offer our warm congratulations to all those selected and to their families, coaches and clubs. Winning a Scotland vest is a tangible reward for commitment to the sport and in many cases years of hard work and dedication.

It’s exciting to see a number of athletes selected here for their Scotland debuts and to see so many different clubs represented.
In fact, taking into account Uni club, we make it a remarkable 20 clubs represented from the length and breadth of Scotland by 24 athletes. It’s good to see Western Isles representation with Abbie Stewart of Stornoway RAC in the U17 team.
In the U23 Men’s team, the trio of Duncan Robinson, Lewis Hannigan and Andrew McGill have all previously or recently been picked for GB and NI.
Remember, all races at Renfrew that day are open races – entries close early in January so do not delay if you plan on racing on Saturday 13 January.
